Season 1 of "Shadows in the Smoke" introduces four of these monster-hunters: Maesie Douglas, a selkie yearning for the freedom of the open sea, "One Shot" John, a mysterious American with a dark secret, Morgan "Rabbit" Lloyd, a vessel for strange and sorcerous magic, and Ena Thanero, the undeniable mistress of the London social scene. They investigate madmen, monsters, and more as they uncover a sinister conspiracy and confront the queen of crime behind it all. Can they survive the worst London has to offer, the ghosts of their past, and each other?

“Shadows in the Smoke” is an actual play series using “The Between”, a tabletop role-playing game by Jason Cordova. It tells the story of a group of monster hunters in Victorian London, struggling against creatures, criminals, and their own inner demons. Season 1 is run by Kim Dalton, and features the voice talents of Robert Merkel, Natalia Montgomery Fernandez, Cassandra Parker, and T. Wade.
